This OTS call seeks novel ideas and technologies to improve situational awareness and security measures for protecting IoT domains, as the DHS mission includes securing critical infrastructure or networks used by DHS operational components which include IoT deployments. Therefore, DHS is interested in technologies and solutions that allow DHS operational and support components and/or critical infrastructure managers to gain comprehensive and near continuous knowledge of IoT components and systems that affect their operations and assets. In this context, DHS defines this situational awareness as requiring three capabilities: DETECT, the ability to know what IoT devices and components are connected to a given network or system; AUTHENTICATE, the ability to verify the provenance of IoT components and prevent and detect spoofing; and UPDATE, IoT security programs must include the ability to securely maintain and upgrade these components.DHS is specifically seeking technologies that address one or more of the following three technical areas: IoT Technical Challenge Areas: a.) Detecting IoT Components and Connections; b.) Authenticating IoT Components; and c.) Updating IoT Components. Written applications must be received in the following e-mail box by the closing date and time of this announcement: DHS-Silicon-Valley@hq.dhs.gov. Please Refer to the solicitation located on FedBizOpps for Submission requirements.
